Event Highlights

• 1 hour early access for Lifetime members 5:00 PM
• Annual member access at 6:00 PM
• Autographs and book signings with Jimmy Metyko (books for sale during the event)
• 7:30 keynote presentation and slide show by Jimmy

Member admission is free, but please register to reserve your spot according to your membership status (annual vs lifetime). Many of our membership levels allow bringing one or more guests with you. See that information here.

• Lifelong surfer raised in Houston, Texas; began surfing in Galveston
• Studied photography at the Brooks Institute, Santa Barbara (1979)
• Documented a formative era in progressive California surfing (1980–1983)
• Developed a close working relationship with world champion Tom Curren
• Documented formative years of Channel Islands surfboards and Al Merrick
• Author of Shaping Surf History: Tom Curren & Al Merrick, California (1980–1983)
• Captured a groundbreaking three-shot sequence of Kelly Slater at Bob Hall Pier in 1987, published in Surfer Magazine, way before Kelly won his first World Title.
