Beach Patrol Reunion Party – July 8th

If you have ever worked for the Galveston Beach Patrol or are currently working on the Beach Patrol, you are invited to this reunion party.  If you are a member of the Surf Museum you are invited.  If you love and support the Beach Patrol you are also invited.

This party is sponsored by SMI Insurance to recognize and thank all of the people that have been a part of the Beach Patrol since it first began in 1913, when the YMCA organized a crew of volunteer lifeguards for Galveston Island. Those early lifeguards worked unpaid, patrolling the beaches from March to October. The group became a member of the Red Cross Life Saving Corp in 1919.
