DESCRIPTION:If you ever worked or are currently working on the Galveston Beach Patrol\, you are invited to this reunion party. \nThis is a private party\, sponsored by SMI Insurance to recognize and thank all of the people that have been a part of the Beach Patrol since it first began.  In 1913\, the YMCA organized a crew of volunteer lifeguards for Galveston Island. They worked unpaid\, patrolling the beaches from March to October. In 1919 this group became a member of the Red Cross Life Saving Corp. \n
